Blues Family group – Lycaenidae
Lycaenidae are a family group of butterflies, this family group is often broken down into more commonly used names (subfamilies), “Blues”, “Hairstreaks” and “Coppers”. In Britain these named groups consist of 18 species, 16 of which are resident butterflies, and 2 the “Short tailed” and “long tailed” Blues, being rare migrants from Europe. |
